“This is a long term rehabilitation program for young men struggling with addiction. My son is currently here and doing well. He is struggling with the day to day issues associated with recovery, and this program has not backed away from how challenging his behavior has been. He was asked to leave his prior program due to his behavior (non compliance and not pulling his weight around the house). This program has taken him on and is working hard to rehab all the parts of his addiction and the associated behaviors. When he was asked to leave Skip Murphys in Maine, the staff from Riverbank came and got him. The director at Riverbank keeps us informed about what is happening with our son on a regular basis. The program incorporates many treatment approaches including massage, Zen meditation, consistent exercise, 12 step principles and strict rules and accountability. We are cautiously optimistic about our son's recovery. It's in his hands now and Riverbank is providing the setting in which he had the best chance of achieving recovery.”

“My name is Ryan and I have been a resident of the Riverbank House for the past seven months, and continue to reside at the house. To say that this house has saved my life would be an understatement! Not only did it help me to release the grip of my addiction relating to alcohol, but has helped me to grow and understand a new way of life. Throughout my time I have seen many come and go, some who stayed for a considerable amount of time, others for a short amount of time, and I can honestly say that each member of our community, past and present, has gained positive experience and knowledge as a result of this home. Seven months ago I was in the grip of a paralyzing addiction to alcohol, which was leading me down a path that was killing me, but my thoughts were that it wasn't killing me fast enough. I was hopeless, unhappy, and always struggling to battle with my addiction. Today I understand a new way of life through spirituality (explained in a simple way for my complicated mind), right action, right thinking, and accountability. With the personalized help of experienced staff, and the tight knit community of sober young adults, I have come farther than I ever thought was possible during my days of drinking and drugging. I will be going back to school full time and hope one day to open my own home modeled after the Riverbank House. I can't say enough about the support I have received from Riverbank and I firmly believe I would not have found such care and involvement in any other sober living environment.”

“the riverbank house is an amazing facility for recovery. the staff, environment and philosophy of this program are tremendously helpful to those in need of guidance with their addiction and how to cope with new found sobriety. They use a whole body/mind approach. Meditation and counseling paired with outdoor physical activities. They create a plethora of new experiences to help the damaged brain to heal and lay down/imprint new healthier connections. My son is doing well there and getting stronger as the weeks turn into months.”
