Program Phases
The recovery journey is a life-long process that begins today. Our first desire must be to stop our self-destructive cycle of addiction and our alienation from others. Next, we must take action toward personal restoration and growth while learning to receive and return help from others. Community life at Riverbank House is built upon the shared values of non-aggression, collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect. Together we inspire each other to build lives of peace, purpose, and dignity.
The Riverbank House Extended Care Community approach to recovery is firmly rooted in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and enriched by the Twelve Principles of Buddhism, daily meditation and Yoga, active participation in local 12-step meetings, and self-discovery through on-site recovery-related activities, and the pursuit of productive passions.
Individual Recovery Coaching at Riverbank House affords personal attention as we work through the 12-step restoration process. At the same time, individual Recovery Coaching also helps us to identify personal goals, develop self-monitoring skills as we progress toward those goals, and move toward consistency and balance in our new approach to living.
If you are new to this journey, the Riverbank House program and one-on-one Recovery Coaching will guide you to an understanding of the true, insidious nature of addiction and provide you with the structure necessary to establish and maintain a new design for living.
If you have attempted but been unable to sustain recovery in the past and are now recommitting yourself to the journey, individualized attention at Riverbank House will guide you in evaluating your previous efforts and provide you the structure necessary to establish constant, lifelong vigilance against addiction.
Whether new or recommitting, if you are joining Riverbank House Extended Care Recovery Community immediately after successful completion of an initial thirty day program elswhere, we honor your commitment to recovery and will align your phase entry point with your most recent, documented experience in your previous program.
